From elegant meals to snacks and conversation, the versatile Guy Dining Room offers a wealth of eating and meeting options. Its location, adjacent to the Miller-Ward Alumni House's many first-floor rooms, gives you ample space to unwind as well.

About the J. Sam Guy Dining Room

The Sam Guy dining room is situated next to Dooley’s Den and is named after J. Sam Guy, who started the chemistry department at Emory. Guy is remembered for his dedication to the department’s student-focused atmosphere, a spirit that continues to be its trademark. The dining room holds 12 people for seated dinners or meetings requiring a table Organizations have access to the Sam Guy Dining Room when reserving Governors’ Hall at no extra cost, but they cannot have exclusive access to the room.

J. Sam Guy served 35 years in Emory’s Department of Chemistry as a professor and chairman. He helped create the student-focused environment that remains a hallmark of the department.
