Miller-Ward Alumni House has become a campus “home away from home” for Emory’s alumni. Named for legendary Emory Deans of Alumni Judson "Jake" Ward 33C 36G and H. Prentice Miller 27C 28G, this premier event facility is adjacent to Houston Mill House and incorporates the former Scholars Press building. In addition, members of the Emory Alumni Association work from the building’s office space.

Miller served as dean of the freshman and sophomore classes and was the first person to be named dean of alumni at Emory, a position for which he served from 1960-1973. Ward, dean of alumni from 1985-2009, spent more than eighty years in the Emory community as a student, teacher, administrator, and spiritual leader. Ward recalled of Miller, “He and I were good friends, and I was a great admirer of his.”

The Miller-Ward Alumni House showcases strolling gardens and outdoor spaces to complement the event rooms filled with historical memorabilia and photographs. The Schley Family Library houses a growing collection of alumni-authored books and historical campus publications including class yearbooks and literary magazines.
